San Luis Obispo is a pretty town, and the weather is great.

Cons

Cal Poly was a great place to work from 1980-1995. After that, administration became an increasingly self-interested entity with the end result that the growth in the number and salaries of administrators has far outpaced the growth of classes offered, faculty positions, staff positions, and employee compensation.

Great faculty committed to education. Everybody works hard to deliver for students

Cons

Pay is way out of sync with competitive hiring process and cost of living in SLO. Push for research is not in line with undergraduate education mission and could destroy the undergraduate focus that has made Cal Poly great.
