Pros

Good business model. Good flexibility at work.

Cons

The IT department (now called D&T) has extremely corrupt hiring practices. Its very difficult to get in without a referral. A few years back they hired a VP from Perot systems who brought in close to 50 of her people from Perot in good positions (Director and above) thereby completely ignoring the hard working internal employees. Needless to say a majority of them were useless but were brought in superseding the talented internal employees. These same employees once inside had a big network amongst themselves and continued to get good performance reviews, better raises and promotions since they were in the Perot network and thereby corrupting the entire system. The IT Department lost a good number of internal employees because of that. With the arrival of the new CIO (Chandra) last year, she has brought in her own team now who hires only from Verizon at astronomical salaries and again ignoring the compensation paid to existing internal employees and creating a big salary disparity. Most of these new Verizon employees are pampered excessively but bring in little in terms of expertise which would be valuable to CBRE. The same mistake is being made all over again. Over the last six months a good number of internal old employees have left. This place is just a mess !!! Nepotism is rampant here especially in IT !!!

Pros

Great co-workers (some). Relocation potential! Bragging rights. Discount on cellular services.

Cons

Most employees lie on our surveys bc we're worried they're not anonymous as they claim to be so here you have it: -A lot of GREAT people have left this company. -There is little to no training, so good luck! -Its so many unnecessary steps to processes, its hard to get anything done. -The workload is INSANE! You never walk out with all your work done, EVER bc the better you are the more they overload you. I had one portfolio my first year, I had 6 before I left IN THE SAME POSITION! -Raises are pennies for most while managers get bonuses (NO LIE! I got a $0.17 raise one year while a manager was getting $5K semi-annual bonuses) -A lot of people in lower positions are better at doing the job of the seniors they're assisting. -Overtime pay is not guaranteed! -Mangers are luck of the draw. A lot of them still operate on antiquated hierarchal mentalities. -Most promotions are slow and come only when convenient to someone else unless you're a part of the "boys club". It isn't based on merit and availability as it should be. -You can be forced to work in a manager capacity but they won't give you the title or pay officially. One amazing woman was a RESA/AREM for 9yrs working as a REM before they gave her a title even though she was doing the work (No exaggeration!) -They "downsized" at the same time they were bragging about being a top earner on Mad Money on CNBC. -The way they bill clients is very sketchy too bc a client can pay for a full-time REM not knowing they're sharing that REM with 4 other clients so its impossible for them to be full-time. Pretty sure that'll eventually come back to bite them. -I was forced to change offices without 24 hrs notice with no input! By far the most ridiculous, inconsiderate, unappreciated experience ever. -Managers plan things behind employees backs then suddenly drop the bomb without notice and pretend they knew nothing about it, a lot. -Benefits are expensive and their 401k match is dwindling! -Warned by veteran employees to RUN bc I'm too good for the company's bs. -EMPLOYEES HAVE A LOT MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS COMPANY THAN THEY ARE WILLING TO ADMIT!
