Pros
- They paid you on time. - Some flexibility with work hours. - Looked good coming in. Unfortunately that impression was short lived.
Cons
- No comp time for unexpected customer site shut-downs (ie snow storms), This was especially irritating when every other contracting firm working for this customer provided comp time to their workers in these situations. - As an hourly worker, overtime was still expected with no compensation. Management side-stepped this issue repeatedly. - Did not address constant scope creep of my job nor inquire about schedules or performance. Furthermore, didn't seem interested either. The value added of CDI admin was unclear. - It was my "job" to translate the customer charge number into a CDI charge numbers for admin. This fact was not part of orientation. - I also found out it was my job "to find a job" within the customer site when a charge number ran out. - CDI is highly streamlined for employee profitability starting day one with the "Red Carpet" on-board process. Expect to spend hours of your own time filling in the on-line website with work information. - Also the issue of on-site contractors in Windsor Locks "renting" their own cubical's bobbed up in one of the few meetings we had with management. This is basically a pay-cut gimmick driven by their customer. If you have a choice between solo contracting and these guys, consider solo contracting.
