Pros

There’s good potential in the automotive tech space for innovation in which the company participates.

Cons

I worked for the company over a number of years during which CDK lead in online innovations among its competitors. About two years ago a devisive, highly political CTO was appointed and the health and well being of the technology crew went consistently downhill. Tantrums at meetings, no long-term strategy, bullying and jockeying to be on tiger teams, and rollbacks of agile and continuous delivery contributed to the decline of the environment. Big software announcements were made publicly for software that wasn’t developed, then tiger teams assembled to make it real. In the midst of the technology swirl, each year brought a more stripped down version of healthcare than the last (it was the worst I’ve experienced in my professional career). I left and found a tech job in Seattle with a 35% pay increase, a great healthcare plan, and a smart local team to work with.

Pros

There once was decent insurance, a pension, IRS limit mileage reimbursement, carry over vacation, management that cared about employees and clients over profit...I could go on and on. It’s all gone now.

Cons

Corporate raiders swooped in the moment we spun off from ADP to install their puppet CEO and his henchmen. Almost all benefits are gone...In fact, they don’t even call them “benefits” anymore...They are called “rewards”. Turnover rampant, except at the very top. Unable to hire and retain decent people because they treat employees so poorly. Gave up caring anything about clients and employees a while ago. Now it’s just about profits...Shipping support and development jobs overseas to employees who are completely clueless about how the automotive business actually works in North America. Clients constantly upset over billing issues, the worst support ever and being lied to by telling them “everything is going great”. The snake is rotten from the head down.
