Pros

Structure, training, and proven methodologies are CDW's strengths. Professional work enviroment is replicated at all of their locations. Agressive business planning for maintaining and growing market share. Solid IT infrastructure. Established brand name recognition within their industry.

Cons

CDW overall as a company has abondoned the original foundation and focus on the employees and customers being stakeholders in its success. Now the focus is fullfilling the financial objectives of the executives and private investors. Even though CDW has aggressive initiatives, they are not apt at utilizing creative and collaberative thinking to help facilitate, accomplish, or excede their buisness goals.

Pros

It's fun environment and very challenging. People who work hard are rewarded. Excellent benefits package as well.

Cons

Long hours, a lot of independence. However, that could be seen as a positive. The problem with a lot of the newbies that start at CDW is that they do not want to work. They see CDW as a social engagement. It's a place to hang out till they go to Lincoln Avenue and hit the bars. Guess what? It's a job. If you work hard and play by the rules, you will get ahead at CDW.

Pros

Strong company with a long history of success. Looks great on a resume. Interesting work.

Cons

Benefits are dropping like a stone. These aren't just the paper benefits but every benefit associated with the company. Even the basics are being treated like expendables when it comes to cuts. Attitudes are quickly changing from willingness to work toward a common goal to an every man for himself attitude. This is caused directly by abandonment of the workers by our management. Recently began the process of turning on employees as a way to save money. People who have worked for years to build the company and make it strong have been sacrificed. Company is using economic turmoil as an excuse to reverse the "culture" that has brought this company to it's current level.
