Pros

If you have kids or have a busy life outside of work, this is the place for you. You can make your schedule and be billed 40 hours and front load your work to add more free time for yourself. The work is not challenging unless in a super technical accounting role

Cons

Many cons at CFGI 1) The pay is terrible. The firm uses COVID-19 and changes in the market as an excuse not to pay people while they have record years. In addition, they will throw out the bs about the OT bonus and that you can get 5 percent on bringing in business as a means to give you an under-market salary. Everyone I know who left the firm got a 30-50% increase in pay and is a large reason why there is turnover 2) 401K match is a joke and health benefits are even worst 3) The only concern of the MD teams are the bottom line and keeping the profits at the top and with the private equity firms that own them. The interest is more on them than putting the capital into investing in their people 4) Some people are hit or miss, You have some amazing people and then some workaholics and/or people with no life where CFGI is all they have. It is important to identify those people early and avoid them at all cost, because working with them on projects makes the whole job lackluster

Pros

-Good Team: Our Risk Advisory group is small, so it's easy to get to know people well. A lot of us are good friends. -Easy to Talk to Bosses: The leadership team is easy to approach, which is different from bigger firms. This lets you take more of a lead in projects early on if you raise your hand and show that you can manage it. -Good Pay: The salary is strong and raises usually come from hard work, not office politics. -Some Overtime Pay: We do get paid for extra hours, but it's a bit complicated. Payments come twice a year and you have to work a lot of extra hours all year to really benefit. -Work-Life Balance: Most of our work is remote (especially on the IT side), which provides a great work-life balance. The only caveat is that sometimes a client wants you to go onsite, but this has rarely happened to me.

Cons

-Growing Too Fast: The group has gotten bigger quickly, and we don't have enough support staff. This makes things a bit messy at times. -Weak Benefits: The health plan and paternity leave could be much better. -Tricky Overtime Rules: You have to work extra hours consistently over the year to get a good overtime payout, which can be hard.
