Pros

Nice building, free coffee and tea, covered parking, prayer chapel on every floor (if that interests you).

Cons

Technical decisions are made by non-technical management. Staff unengaged and unmotivated to produce quality products/services to business units in timely manner. Politics is more important than performance.

Pros

Nice building in Irving. Generous PTO (when you can take it). Their standards for hiring are low so those having difficulty getting jobs at other employers due to poor skills may want to consider Christus corporate.

Cons

Christus has an extremely poor understanding of how unhappy their employees are. Chistus pays below market and expects people to work absurd hours. Employees are not rewarded for their efforts and are constantly complaining about their situation. A reoccurring problem that seems to be apparent across all departments (accounting, PFS and IM specifically) is extremely poor managers and system directors. I'm not sure where Christus hired many of its middle management, but they are the main reason behind all of the distasteful reviews on Glassdoor. Me specifically, I worked 60+ hours a week for a terrible manager who racially profiled me because I was Caucasian (she was African-american and I was one of the few white employees she worked with). She also constantly yelled and insulted me behind closed doors and consistently blamed me for our teams problems when our systems director would inquire. She even attempted to turn HR against me and HR would not even hear my side of the story. several of my colleagues encountered similar situations and would reach our to HR for help but HR would also give them the cold shoulder

Pros

The hours in outpatient clinics are nice if that's all you actually have to work which is most of the time not the case. There are many different specialists within the hospital.

Cons

It did not supply the "great insurance and benefits" that was boasted about. The plan is really expensive with a high deductible. The pay is at the low end in the area. The "yearly raise does not take effect for at least 6 mos. past the actual year mark. They don't pay based on years of experience rather years of service for Christus.
