Pros

My team was great and very helpful. They made me enjoy coming to work. If you have a good manager, they'll work with your needs and be flexible. CITY tries to care for its associates by sending care packages every once in a while. They're also good at showing recognition in morning meetings.

Cons

The budgeting isn't very well managed. Associates are underpaid. If you don't have a good manager, the sick time policy can work against you. There were multiple rounds of lay offs and attempts at restructuring that caused people to lose their jobs

Pros

They have some good people working for them who want and deserve respect.

Cons

This company's GOAL is to reach 40% retention FOR A REASON. They preach family values, and all the things the marketing team tells them to say but you won't find any of those values down in the trenches where the work is being done. Down there, they're sending guys out to deliver furniture during a hurricane and actively looking for (and in some cases, fabricating) reasons to write you up so that when the slow season comes, they can call up all the bogus write-ups as a reason to let you go only to do the exact same thing the next year. For instance, I was on light duty after being injured care a careless associate. They made a doctor's appointment for me that gave me 4 minutes to drive 9 miles back to work afterwards. Obviously, I was going to be late getting to work after and they wrote me up twice for that! Wondering why 40% retention is a pipe dream? Try getting to 30% FIRST!!!

Thank you for your candid review. CITY always strives to lower its Turnover rate. Therefore, we always look to retain our current staff. In addition to competitive salaries, the company offers a wide range of benefits and rewards. You have some valid points that you may want to direct through the appropriate channels. We suggest you contact People Services so that we can look into them further.
