Pros

the culture is great, really feels like a family. there is a lot of opportunity for both vertical and lateral moves, all you need to do is be vocal about your goals and what you want to learn. leadership is really receptive to associates' feedback and suggestions. great work from home policy. competitive compensation.

Cons

The benefits are not at all competitive: You get 10 days TOTAL your first TWO YEARS, with a SIX MONTH waiting period. I've never heard of this in my life. You have the option to take unpaid days, but that just adds financial stress to a vacation that you're likely taking to recharge. 401K match is average or below average. Health insurance plan is an HMO, rather than a PPO. Unpaid maternity leave.

Pros

Looks good on a resume. That was a joke. Everyone I've met knows this is a racket and it's a stain on any resume.

Cons

The whole image of professionalism is a shell. Don't be confused. This is just another "employee mill" with extremely high turnover. They will lie to your face telling you that you will make more than 50k a year. The truth? 99% of employees are lucky to get past 40k.

Lots of Kool-Aid to Drink

Pros

Coworkers were great, fun company parties.

Cons

Pay structure got changed shortly after I got hired from paid on written to delivered. We were promised it wouldn't affect our pay but that's not true, they close off half the days for delivery on the week of payroll. Bonuses aren't getting paid out the way they used to. Upper management preaches family environment and how they want us to have a work life balance. Upper management actually says a lot of things that sound great in theory but they never back up what they say. They are looking to expand and doing anything they can to cut back our pay. We do a cult chant every morning lol. Your goal is insanely high so the only way to meet it is to life (all day shift) or come in on off days. The micro-managing is out of control and makes you extremely uncomfortable on the floor. You get written up for anything, 0 appreciation for the hard work you put in. I work on the Ashley side and the online business hurts us so much in the showroom. The turnover is high and for good reason, if you aren't drinking the kool-aid and are somewhat intelligent you can see through all the lies. I wish I had more good to say and I'm not some bitter employee I was one of the top salespeople in my showroom but I wouldn't recommend working here unless you're ok with no work life balance, constantly having your pay cut, being micro-managed the moment you walk into the showroom, and being promised things that will never happen.
