An interesting vision but poor leadership is driving people out the door
Pros
CKM has been a good first job in tech and the company does have a good track record of hiring those new to the field. Learned a lot from some coworkers. Benefits program is decent with no paycheck deductions for benefits. Made some good friends while there and many ex-CKMers still keep in touch and get together. Office has free drinks, snacks and regular social events.
Cons
Company performance has been struggling with very little sales. CKM is basically a services or technical staff augmentation company limping along as a wanna-be tech product company. Leadership seemed to chase any potential project opportunity without a clear vision or focus on what our business was. Such a lack of focus made it unclear what we were all trying to achieve. CEO often brought a sour attitude to the office and regularly treated people quite poorly or snapped. He'd be extremely nice one minute then publicly degrading someone the next minute over some trivial thing. CKM was also a difficult environment for women in technology. Coworkers discussed how it was made clear by leadership that women weren't well suited for senior roles in the company. With the market for talent quite hot it quickly became clear that everyone could do better and didn't need to accept such an environment. Ultimately the lack of clear and consistent direction for the company combined with a difficult and often condescending leadership gave many little reason to stay.
