Pros

The culture in my office is very good and there are a lot of opportunities to learn and grow. The office is also very young which is atypical for a companies in the construction industry.

Cons

There is no transparency when it comes to compensation. They claim to pay high bonuses but there is no connection to job performance and you never know what you’re going to get. There also is not much in place when it comes to mentoring and career path planning/goals.

Pros

Good pay, good projects, highly driven friendly people. Management celebrates employees taking on more and welcomes new ideas and approaches.

Cons

At this company, there's a tendency to operate very lean. For instance, if a task ideally requires two plumbing or mechanical engineers for high-quality completion, management often assigns just one, putting that single person under significant pressure. The company frequently takes on more projects than it has the capacity for, leading to long hours, constant deadlines, and high stress. Construction responsibilities aren't usually considered when assigning projects, focusing instead only on jobs currently in design. This environment suits those who thrive on long hours, frequent deadlines, and high pressure. However, achieving a good work-life balance here is challenging and may require significant personal sacrifice. Employees often handle multiple roles on projects, serving as the sole mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineer, while also managing specifications, project management, meetings, and LEED design/credits. This offers growth opportunities but is challenging and highly stressful due to the lack of support.
