Pros

Ongoing change which is needed. People are nice for the most part. Comp and benefits are mid-range for market. Business performance is good and getting better so hope springs eternal for positive change for employee experience.

Cons

Corporate structure is ridiculously top heavy with needless layers of officers. Bonus is way under market unless you are an officer. Like most places, there are career opportunities if you kiss the right bottoms.

Worse place to work by the day...

Pros

Competitive pay, and benefits are about it.

Cons

Technology or lack of, for a company this size, is inexcusable. They don't want to make the investment. There is a lot of pressure on its employees, and they expect more and more from you every day. They focus on inconsequential areas, instead of what is really important. Company is out of touch with its employees. They breach life/work balance, but expectations aren't realistic. They talk about open doors and challenge and speak up, but they don't want to really hear from you. They talk about opportunity and career opportunities , but other an elaborate flow chart, they do nothing to help employees make a change. They will a stranger off the street before giving its good employees an opportunity to change career paths. A lot of RIF's and offshoring we have seen in recent years to make big profits for shareholders and their former CEO who walked away with 10's of millions... If you want to work for a rigid, inflexible insurance company right out of the 50's come here.
