Decent contractor, Poor culture

Pros

Decent benefits, nice office space and great DC location. It's a good stepping stone for other government opportunities elsewhere, especially good with the FAA.

Cons

Used to be a really great company but declining for 3 years. No upper management, poor guidance to employees. Mgt. rewards those who do the least and complain the most because they don't want to hurt their feelings and those who are honest and hard working get zero recognition or support. HR is for themselves, puts up a false front, yet they seem to run the show. Don't bring any HR related issues to their attention either, or you'll be the next one with a target on your back. Leadership lost their transparency and good employee culture a long time ago and pretends that things are improving, but if you listen closely to employee chatter, they feel over-worked and stressed, under-paid, under-appreciated, misguided. They're losing good employees every month.

Disappointed

Pros

I really enjoyed the people with whom I had the opportunity to work. Benefits were good, work-life balance was good, and I had a lot of freedom within my job to try new things and develop areas that I thought were important.

Cons

Very little guidance from leadership. If you are not part of the core group of 'special people' then you will not enjoy any respect, nor will people listen to you. The company does not share any information and there are tremendous work and information silos. There is a lot of talk about good communication, but it's just that; all talk. The recruiting process needs a lot of work internally; very little collaboration to identify the right needs and hire the right people.
