Pros

You get to run the business as your own but with CVS rules. Good company to work for if you don't like your family and want to be away from them constantly.

Cons

I was with this company for ten years and things changed as with all companies but I would say the last year has been the worst I've ever seen. The company preaches customer service non-stop but does not provide the staff needed to provide that level of service. All stores follow a minimum hours format in the MIchigan market at least. This means that based on this model most shifts will have one cashier working and one manager working. This means the manager must complete 85% of the physical labor for the store, in essence you are a glorified stocker and really only have to manage yourself. A typical day will have you start off by performing opening duties, answering backdoor for vendors, complete all stocking, complete daily price changes, cover all breaks with yourself as the cashier, cover pharmacy calls for back up cashier, complete planograms, change out ends, hold one on one mycustomer observations (often times while the cashier is trying to ring out customers). This is just the small list of the myriad of tasks that you alone must complete by yourself on a daily basis. I am not exaggerating whatsoever you will earn your money, you will work 6-7 days a week, you will have to cover call offs and work doubles to cover call offs because the store is so understaffed that there is only 5-6 ppl to call if there a call in. This company has completely lost touch with reality with how a business should operate, the corporate greed is disgusting as an employee and as a former customer. Anytime you walk into a location you will have to wait in line for up to 10 mins during peak busy times. Shame on cvs for their service.

Pros

Interesting problems to solve; Flexible work environment; Great coworkers

Cons

The benefits stink compared to similar companies. PTO is minimal and accrues slowly over the years. Insurance premiums are high for not much benefit.

Pros

Great introduction to SQL coding and client facing. There is a very intelligent team to work with and learn from. Most of the managers are interested in your success. Great autonomy and work from home benefits.

Cons

High turnover rate due to low pay. There is a disparity in the culture of those who believe we work for sales or we work in analytics. Those who believe we work with sales jump through hoops and work very long and late hours. Those who believe we work in analytics have a more desirable work life balance. The technology is outdated.
