Hours of constant mandatory on line training unpaid (usually done at home because too busy at work to even think about completing it there). Focus for RPh is on numbers and percentages, not patient care. So skimpy on tech hours for your volume, that it puts your license in jeopardy and I'm petrified of making errors due to overwhelming work conditions (350 scripts in 14 hr shift with 30 tech hours). I love to advise and counsel patients, but as soon as I spend 3 minutes with someone, I'm so backed up that I never catch up because I stopped checking Rx's. Voiced concerns about lack of support are continuously unheard by upper management. Huge turnover of technicians because of the extreme stress but incredibly low pay. In summary, this company wants you to do their dirty work so they can make the shareholders gobs of money. They do not care about or listen to their employees. They used to 10 years ago, but the company has fallen so far that I am now interviewing after 13 years with the company. The best pharmacists in our district have left and they could care less...they just replace them with new grads at a cheaper price. No benefits at all for part timers...no 401K, paid vacation time, or holiday pay...just a store discount. Full time employees health benefits were just slashed...and it's a health care company. It's so sad what they have become.
