Cons

Management, lack of employees depending on store, horrible at teaching anything outside of register, learn as you go because no one else will teach you

Pros

From what I've heard, CVS is a good company to work for, but it greatly varies on position and location. My issues are with my particular location.

Cons

I got a bad location. Customers are horrible at this one, even for CVS. Not enough staff even for a CVS, so breaks are difficult, and I usually have to walk off register to use bathroom. I understand that the lack of staffing is not manager's fault, and they are over worked, while anyone who isn't a manager has to go to other stores or get a second job to get by. Managers often have to do stuff like stock that would have been done by employees not too long ago because they are on salary, and they don't want to pay employees. This particular CVS is trying, customers flip out all the time, and unless they see everything, management typically takes their side no matter what. I have seen these same customers at my other job try the same stuff, and it's not tolerated there. Another unusual rule at this CVS is that the cashier also has to be a greeter like at Walmart, or you get in trouble. I have worked at other locations and this is not thing, and if it is, they will have a separate employee for this. You get in trouble for not greeting even on truck day. You are also not allowed to talk to other employees in front of customers because it will show up on your evaluation here. Other CVS this is isn't a problem.
