Pros

Each person's individual situation and experience at a company is unique, but in general CWT is a great company with great people, and with opportunity to advance. I feel they have the best offering top to bottom in the corporate travel mgmt industry regardless of a prospective clients' size.

Cons

Great company, great people, and with opportunity to advance, yet a lot of bureaucracy. Between my qualifying and passing leads to the sales team in addition to my participation in the sales trainings I was told mgmt was impressed with my grasp of selling and the concepts of value based selling, and that I would be given an opportunity expanding my sales support role to a more full inside sales / telesales role. I was excited to be moving into a more important role with a greater impact on the company's wellbeing in having a chance to win business for the company. Yet a year later I was still not given that opportunity and then laid off due to the recession after receiving a great raise a few months prior. I definitely felt betrayed considering I had been loyal for 8 years and done nothing but move up the ladder consistently from a brainless administration position to actually being engaged with prospective clients, being challenged and getting to use my intelligence. I feel had I had that opportunity that I would have much success in winning business for the company and would prove myself more valuable to the company through my success which obviously equals theirs. I feel I would still have a job at this moment. I'm not sure if I blame the company or the manager hired I reported to who was new in mgmt, never managed anyone. I felt he did not fight for me the way my previous manager did and did not give me the resources or his personal time for my development. I was practically managing myself already as I was in full swing with my duties when he came in, it was just a matter of managerial restructuring that screwed me. Needless to say I may still have a job had I had my previous manager still looking out and fighting for me.

Pros

As a large company there is a lot of potential for growth. There are a lot of bright individuals working for the company, although they don't necessarily look outside the box.

Cons

People protect their pet projects and protect their boundries without looking at the greater good of the company. There is a lot of "who you know and influence" mentality rather than recognizing that sometimes new or different ideas can be the right way to go. Senior management doesn't like to make unpopular decisions even when it's the "right" decision.
