Pros

The one pro I see working here is that you get an opportunity to learn TWO new software programs, 2020 design and Netsuite. Outside of that, I can't name another PRO working here!

Cons

CTG's upper management all came from L & L Flooring (formerly known as Lumber Liquidators) the same L & L that is now closing 94 of it's store locations so I mean this should tell you all you need to know about upper management here. The owner hates California and I was told this by my manager at the Commerce store at the time of my employment there. CTG has a MAJOR customer service issue, just look at the yelp reviews online, not the google reviews which can be manipulated by the sales associates who ask customer to put a positive review online at the point of sale. They do not care about their customer base at all, it's all about getting the sale and moving on to the next customer. They market a service to install but rely on ONE contractor for the whole southern cal. region and they do NOT active try to recruit more installers so the company at least in Commerce, CA area is NOT growing. Shipping is another MAJOR issue with the company as I would say more than 40% of their orders ship out with damaged product on the truck. The orders look as if someone opened the boxes while the product was enroute to the customers home and retaped again. How are sales associates suppose to get referral business when the business can't even ship product in good condition to the customer? Customer service in the company has misled customers with misinformation several times which has caused complaints and angry customers to show up to the showroom, then when sales associates brings this up to upper management, it's crickets. Upper management NEVER wanted to deal with any of the REAL problems at this company and this is why they will NEVER experience any growth, especially at the Commerce store. Sales have been declining in the company for the last 3 years (I have seen the data myself in NetSuite, a program the company uses to house all of it's sales data) and they are doing nothing to IMPROVE their relations with customers. Oh and to top it all off, they will only pay YOU the sales associate a 3% commission on top of $16/hour which is less than minimum wage here in CA! So basically, your going to make about $2k a month with the POTENTIAL to earn a 3% commission. Problem here is when your seeing ONLY about 3 customers a day who come into your showroom, it's not much opportunity to EARN that 3% commission so again, you will be stuck making about $2k a month, you might as well just get a job at Popeyes, at least they pay you $20 an hour! Last but not least, just look online at the Yelp reviews and see what customer's have said about the PRESIDENT/CEO Jason Delves and it should tell you all that you need to know about the company. He doesn't give a crap about customer's and for you as a sales associate, this is not a good thing for you because you will NEVER have upper management who has your back on any issue because, again, the PRESIDENT just cares about SALES and that is it. Customer service is something Jason Delves could care less about which is why the business is trending downward! Highly recommend you go work at a fast food joint, at least you'd make more money!

Pros

Great culture, Great schedule, No salary cap, Huge company-wide investment in training, Clear expectations. Strong company with lots of growth in the headlights.

Cons

Not all stores have enough volume for a warehouse employee, so you might need to unload a weekly truck at some locations, as well as help customers load/pickup cabinets.
