Great venue if you are looking to work on some great technologies, but not so great compensation.

Cons

HR just don't care to respond to employees emails, be it urgent or anything.I takes multiple attempts for them to finally respond. Most lousy HR department, I would rate as bad and this greatly affects Calix brand . I have also heard from my friends who have been through the interview and they just dont follow-up with the candidates to update on the status. It is like a black hole nobody knows what goes on.

Interesting experiment in company culture

Pros

Positives about the company culture: people are supportive of each other especially someone is going through a life event. Seeks talent any where in US, innovative thinking is encouraged and the executive team is very approachable. Customers appreciate Calix.

Cons

Sales driven company. Company grew in size faster than its revenue. Its not clear whether the company can grow outside of its footprint.

Pros

CEO is very open to its employee, company has open communication policy. Few managers are/were exceptional. Horizontal org structure with vertical responsibility.

Cons

In the name of change, course correction happening seems like every month. Lot of smart people left the company. New executives joined recently as team, work as cartel. Feels like there is divide between new executives and mid level management. New management team is exclusive and delusional. All the recent executives joined company with the history of failures in earlier company and were laid off from earlier jobs. Good luck, making success with them.
