      Pros

      Having a voice! We all have a voice here and it shows! Customers love us. And we love them, they are like partners not a traditional vendor / customer relationship. Our culture! We work to have the best business culture you can.

      Cons

      It's busy, you do need to be ready and prepared to work. Though is that really a con? We are a virtual company, have been for about 5 or 6 years. Which means a lot of virtual meetings. As an org we do try to limit them, for example first Friday of every month is productivity day. Second Friday of the 2nd month of each quarter is recharge day, etc.

      I got more assistance from my co-workers during the execution time of the release

      Pros

      In Telecom, things are always changing and evolving. So, you are unlikely to get bored with work. And Calix is understanding of burnout and are willing to shift your work if/when you feel you need for a change. Time off is flexible and they understand the need for taking time off etc. Full support for working from anywhere (i.e. home office).

      Cons

      Expectations run high and now with the work from anywhere model, Calix is trying numerous methods to keep people connected and engaged. While that makes sense, you week can become full of meetings, tech support, work reviews, etc. and you have less and less time to get your work done.

In order to combat meeting fatigue, Calix has implemented 'Recharge Days' and 'No Internal Meetings Days' to provide meeting-free days on a monthly basis.
