My position with Calix has been work from anywhere since day 1. One first interactions I had was with the IT guy and his comment was "What can I do to get out of your way" and that point of view has held true across numerous interactions over the years. Calix was well positioned to fully embrace and double down on remote employee engagement over the past two years. I feel blessed to work for a company that truly puts employees first.

Cons

It's difficult to pinpoint any downsides that aren't being aggressively addressed.

Pros

Calix is punching way above its weight providing fiber and wireless solutions bringing seamless internet access to residences. Team members are biased towards cooperation rather than competition in developing industry leading innovative solutions for our customers. Management has proven to have great insight into the future of residential access, allowing the teams within Calix to share a common vision of the future and in so doing, create the future. It is exciting to meet with customers who are who are complementing the team on providing what they need to succeed rather than complaining about things that are wrong.

Cons

The downsides of working at Calix in the past do not exist today, for the most part. In the past, department compartmentalization prevented cross fertilization and collaborative working relationships. These barriers have been largely broken down and each department is working together towards a common vision. The success of Calix has lead to a lot of hiring and some new employees may be overwhelmed by how to fit within a team that is moving quickly.
