Pros

I've been working at the Belle Plaine office for about 6 months and can say I truly like my job. This company is family owned and it treats their employees with more respect than other companies I've worked for. There are many opportunities to learn new skills and advance within your role- in the short time I've been here my duties have already been redefined to something that fits my skill set even better.

Cons

Personal con is living an hour away! Management can also be hard to approach at times.

An hour commute can be long, and we appreciate your commitment to our team. In addition, please know that the entire management team welcomes feedback and open communication; don’t hesitate to voice what’s important to you, as it may be on the minds of others as well. Thank you!

Pros

The hours were very favorable to have a good work/life balance. Pay was exceptional. The people were very friendly.

Cons

The interview process took much longer than expected. It took almost 3 months from initial contact to be hired on full-time. This is the only con, once I was hired it was worth the wait.

We appreciate your kind words about working at Cambria! We understand our interview process can sometimes be longer than anticipated. We value finding the best talent and are diligent about bringing the right people on board. Thank you for your feedback on the travel regarding the orientation and training program. It’s important for us to have a robust training program for employees and we continue to refine the program to ensure optimal classroom and in-market training/development time. Thank you for your thoughts.

Pros

The product itself is fantastic. Being the world leader in the industry is really exciting, even if you aren't overly interested in the industry itself. Cambria is family-owned, and the ownership is engaged. The family believes in giving back to the community in truly amazing ways. The company growth is astounding. It allows people to really focus on their interests. Everyone is involved in a large number of projects of different kinds, which is great for career/resume building. 401(k) employer match and profit sharing are great benefits.

Cons

Incredibly high stress environment, having a very negative effect. All employees are overworked due to the company growth, and the stress level increases turnover, increasing the work load for the remaining employees. Despite the high stress environment, minimal vacation is given and is not even true vacation, as no out of office communication is allowed, and company cell phones must be answered at all times. No dental/vision insurance and very mediocre insurance options. Flex spending, while helpful, are not a viable alternative for these items. Cambria thrives on direct communication, which normally is a good thing. The problem is that you never know where you stand overall, because you are praised for something one minute and screamed/cursed out the next. No performance reviews, raises, or overall feedback is proivded, again adding to that overall stress level. Despite the growth, it's surprisingly difficult to find promotions. Most movement within the company is lateral, and the company prefers to hire externally than promote within.

Thank you for your constructive review. We love that you mention the quality of the product, our commitment to giving back and our company growth. These are all very important to us as a company and things we will continue to stand for. In addition to the positive growth of our company, there are also growing pains which you have also mentioned that our company is experiencing first-hand. In response to some of your concerns, we want you to know we are actively working on initiatives to improve workload and overall environmental pressures, which include planning, timing and resourcing. In regards to promotions and raises, Cambria will always reward outstanding performance. Promotions and raises are indeed given when merited and on a regular basis. Thank you. Cambria Management
