Pros

Cameron offers their employees above average salary and benefits. The work environment is relaxed and low stress and everyone seems to have fun working together. Management is approachable and friendly and understands that people have lives outside of work and doesn't make you feel guilty for taking time off. There are many employees currently working for Cameron that have been there for 20+ years which says a lot about the work environment and the fact that they've wanted to stay for that long.

Cons

Cameron's appears to be getting away from their philosophy of training and promoting from within. This seems to be putting people with less knowledge of the business and industry in positions to make important decisions and their decisions aren't always based on good information. The 6Sigma culture sounds good in theory but hasn't truly been put into practice and there is little accountability for poor decision making.

Pros

The work environment is nice ,its not very stressful but there is enough work to be busy. The salary is very competitive, especially for the oil industry. The company does promote training, and development. Many employees have had the opportunity to switch to new areas of the organization to see if they like it better. The company definitely promotes from within

Cons

The organization is not aggressive enough. The oil and drilling services industry is one in which they have been successful in, and I feel that they have stopped at this point. Cameron International has done a lot of acquisitions over the past years, but not so much in R& D.

Pros

Relaxed company atmosphere, and a company that has a bright future. The people there are friendly, and always willing to work as a team. The corporate structure is decentralized, allowing each branch to operate autonomously.

Cons

Stuck in the past, very behind the curve on technology and does not always promote from within. There is not a strong check system in place for middle management. This leaves impersonal and (sometimes) obnoxious people in power. The company preaches lean six/sigma, but has not actually made a full effort to implement this. A lot of big talk in this company.
