Pros

The clients, coworkers, clinical supervision.

Cons

This agency is not what it used to be. Major changes in upper management, complete disconnect with "frontline" case managers. Under trained/incompetent supervisor in the REACH program with no clinical or therapeutic knowledge. They exploit their employees with unrealistic expectations and workload. Employees are expected to work overtime without compensation and reprimanded if they don't complete work or ask for support. Instead of asking questions and finding solutions to support case managers , management brings in HR to provide a "pep talk" that this work is simple and all case managers need to do is see clients, write timely notes, and return phone calls. Management thinks "change" is normal and does not question why there is such a high turnover rate. If you want to feel underpaid, under valued, demoralized and overworked, this place is for you.

Pros

I have worked in many agencies in a supervisory roles before coming to Caminar and can empathize with the unfortunate , unrealistic and challenging predicaments management and line staff are often placed in. I believe the program directors, current and former, specifically AOT, REACH, and REACH/FSP have huge boots to fill and do their best to support their staff and provide both guidance and structure to support their professional growth. They not only have to complete the day to day managerial tasks that come along with the position but they also have to support their team (2 Assistant Case Manager's, 5 Case Manager's, 50+ client consumers per team) who are working DAILY to meet the needs of our county's most high at-risk consumers. Compared to most non-profits, Caminar pays their case managers extremely well , provides weekly (often daily) supervision for their staff and encourages their ever growing education in the field.

Cons

Smaller Caseload Sizes (but understand it is typically part of the contract each program holds that dictates the case load...not management) Better Food Truck Selection
