Pros

Lots of technical knowledge and support.

Cons

Overpromising deliverables and understaffed. Too many managers and not enough people to get on the ground to execute. Relatively lower pay in comparison to competitors

Thank you for leaving us this feedback. We really appreciate it. We’ve passed along your comments about staffing to local leadership. We’re continually growing our local team, and we’re sorry to hear you feel workloads are imbalanced right now. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to talk to your supervisor or office leader about this issue. They can give you more insight into our strategy for hiring new staff, managing workloads and supporting our employees in achieving work/life balance. They can also share more about our approach to pay equity. We have a robust process in place to ensure salaries are consistent internally and competitive within the industry. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts, and for being a key part of our firm.

Salary and Work

Pros

Pays for ARE study materials and a pass and 1 fail exam.

Cons

Projects aren't that interesting, mostly small renovations. Salary is pretty low, and you're overworked. It's a sink or swim environment here, you basically are thrown into projects and need to learn quick to survive.

Pros

This company offers many opportunities for its staff to grow their skills and position. Every design firm will require the young staff completes the tedious grunt work - that’s the case anywhere - but express your interest in increased responsibility and salary and the leadership will respond accordingly.

Cons

There’s a lot of work to be done, but the firm can’t hire enough people to distribute the load. It’s getting better, but overtime hours have been required to keep up with the demand.

Thanks for leaving us a review. We really appreciate your comments about the opportunities to grow in the firm. We also recognize we have a lot of work to do (which is a good thing!) and that we have several open positions we need to fill in Chicago. We’re actively hiring new teammates in Chicago to help us better distribute workloads. And thanks for mentioning the importance of investing in younger staff. We can’t stress the importance of that enough—and we will absolutely continue to do it. Thanks again for the review. We’re so glad you’re here.
