Not a good place

Pros

Talented, capable people, in addition to many of the resources found in a large firm.

Cons

Top heavy, uninspiring place with a deep lack of focus. Many initiatives that don't amount to anything. Clear split between design and technical. Junior staff designs, and mid-level staff cleans up the mess. Opportunities for growth are available only to the chosen few.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback, and I’m sorry to hear about your frustrations. To allow a firm of our size to function, manage risk, grow and remain financially successful, we do need a robust team of leaders at the top guiding us in the right direction. We have eight individuals leading our firm—our firm’s Core Team—but each has a very distinct focus area (e.g. design excellence, financials, business strategy, etc.). If you haven’t had a chance to meet or speak with these leaders, I encourage you to reach out to them directly to discuss some of your frustrations. Each leader is fully committed to an open door policy. Also, the entire leadership team will be traveling to offices throughout 2016-2017 to meet with employees, so don’t be afraid to bring up any of your concerns then, too. In the interim, I encourage you to speak to your supervisor regarding some of the other issues you bring up. There is a difference between design staff and technical staff (i.e. the job responsibilities are different), but we need both to deliver successful projects. If you feel that there is an unfair split on the projects you are working on, we absolutely want you to speak up so we can address the situation. The same goes for your comment about the unbalanced workloads between junior and mid-level staff, and the lack of growth opportunities. Thanks for being honest with your feedback. We take comments like this very seriously and use them to make our firm better.

Corporate Architecture at it's finest

Pros

Some of the more exciting projects that I was able to work on. Many of the projects are very large and require a lot of overtime to complete. Personally thought that the organizational structure of the firm is very organized and focused on pursuing new projects constantly.

Cons

The way in which work is distributed falls onto lower level employees very heavily. Many colleagues would say that 10 percent of the staff does 90 percent of the work. Some of the higher staff seems unapproachable.

Really appreciate the feedback. We’re happy to hear you got to work on some exciting projects. Thanks for contributing your talents! As a firm, we’re thankful to have more than 900 employees who all contribute to our projects in different ways. Some are subject matter experts who guide big-picture strategy and share best practices while others are project managers, technical architects, design architects, engineers, and that list goes on. All of our employees contribute to the success of our projects in their own way – and our success as a firm depends on each unique contribution. We’re also excited to share that we have a new firm leadership team in place that is wholly committed to fostering a culture of open dialogue across all levels of staff. Led by our new CEO, Brad Lukanic, they’ve already implemented big changes to make themselves more accessible to all levels of employees. Again, thanks for the feedback and best of luck in your future endeavors!
