Pros

The brand name , but even that is questionable

Cons

Nothing really changes, career paths only run into dead ends. They don’t reward their key staff as well as they could & more to the point as well as they should. The managers are all dinosaurs & HR only fall in line with managers who pull all the strings in order to steer in biased way. Constant restructuring in order to shoe off employees

Pros

* There were some very friendly and hardworking people. Hopefully a few have remained * Worked on challenging, creative and rewarding projects * European marketing contacts in local offices were generally collaborative * Ability to try products on loan * Professional DSLR/Video category still buoyant * Nice canteen and plenty of parking

Cons

Canon was a B2C giant in the 90s/2000s. Digital camera sales peaked in 2011 then rapidly deteriorated in the face of huge disruption from smartphones and ease of social media sharing. Canon outperformed the market but has been pushing water uphill since. In hindsight Canon probably should have focused on the professional category but instead restructured around the cliched ‘marketing to millennials transformation’ many big corporations buy off the shelf from consultants at huge expense. Projects and people from this have since been let go. The B2B side always struggled with profitability so adding this B2C side crash affected company performance and morale badly. Recently the European CEO has been replaced with a Japanese who has embarked on cost cutting to try and stay afloat. (As per almost all other reviews I concur that HR were very poor, serving the directors not the employees)

Pros

- International working environment - Friendly colleagues

Cons

- Really hard for women to get into Manager and Senior positions - As a young starter, the package offered by the company is lower than the market's average - Slow-moving company
