Pros

The support engineering team is made up of incredible, supportive, talented people. 10/10 would work with again. Adjacent departments are also filled with highly intelligent, highly competent engineers. Middle management, similarly great.

Cons

Executive suite is short-sighted, jumps from project to project or 'priority' to 'priority', important products with strong customer bases are ignored or abandoned, and the entire enterprise seems haphazard. Further, Mark Shuttleworth is a toxic personality, and puts more into 'dictator' than 'benevolent' in his title of 'benevolent dictator for life'.

Pros

None honestly come to mind

Cons

- A ridiculous and drawn-out interview process with as least human interaction as possible - Unclear KPIs to evaluate my role - Urgent projects that get put on the back burner constantly like revamping the website and being clear about what we do

Hello. Although you have left our team I am sure that you will remember the premise of our process and the high bar we set for incoming talent. Our leadership and talent professionals hold a deep belief that a person cannot be selected overnight and that ultimately our people make our culture and business. We take our time to make sure that we explore an individual's achievements fully and are proud to select exceptional people to work with as colleagues. This year has seen a huge uptick in demand for remote roles but we are looking to identifying people that make a difference, innovate and inspire others and have the passion and determination to help drive our open source world forward.
