Pros

It's a great place to learn about the mortgage industry quickly since you'll have access to all parts of the business. Leads are all given to you, so your main focus will be on your client and finding them the best financial fit without the pressure of having to close the loan like a commission only LO. The product is a great fit for a very specific demographic of people, however more experienced or complicated borrowers may be better off with more abstract or portfolio offerings that are not currently offered.

Cons

Growth in the company is solely based on whether a select few people chose you for a position. Often internal opportunities were not posted, advertised, or even interviewed for; leaving people who wish to grow but aren't in with the right people to stand aside and watch as other people are just announced for promotions. The company grew too fast without properly laying down foundations that would protect the larger employee base when rates increased, leaving endless rounds of reductions-in-force that lasted months. With RIFs occurring as frequently as every 2 weeks, it made it really hard to believe that there was a long-term plan in place to protect the business, employees, and clients from the downturn in a cyclical industry.

Pros

The insurance team has a great onboarding and training program. The department stays busy regardless of the market because of how many clients they have accrued when the market was better. Management and leadership in the department was fantastic, they truly know how to help you grow as a professional while successfully running an agency within the company. The culture was great throughout the company, but the insurance department does a great job at going above and beyond in that aspect as well. If you are looking to gain sales or insurance experience I don’t think you’ll find a more enjoyable experience anywhere else.

Cons

Not much, an opportunity to earn commission would be nice to incentivize and reward hard work, however the compensation for an entry level insurance consultant is fair for the area and market.

Pros

Great mission. Saving people money is good

Cons

A lot of the recent reviews tell you what you need to know. CapCenter is in a cyclical industry (mortgage refinance) and you will need to be ready every ~7 years to be laid off suddenly. - Whiplash. Work priorities change every day. - Blind. Management doesn't understand their own business. - Deaf. Management doesn't listen to employees. They do whatever they want. - Unstable. 25%+ of employees laid off in the last 6 months. Many others have left voluntarily including high performers. - Nepotistic. Upper management is all one family. The new generation aren't qualified and aren't held accountable for poor performance. - Manipulative. You will be underpaid and vaguely promised raises in the future.
