Only attracts C level employees and then rewards them for not working effectively

Pros

ESOP (when vested and when old enough). Nice location. The majority of the people are nice to work with.

Cons

IT Management is lackluster at best. No interest in treating their employees as human beings. They will work you to death with no regard for health or family implications. More than half of IT are contractors. Most are from a single vendor which has been in-house for more than 7 years. In many cases there is no path available for career advancement.

Pros

Offers ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan) to full time employees. Friendly small company feel. Relocation expenses paid.

Cons

IT upper management is inexperienced and disorganized. There are a CIO, Director and Development and product management leader who never appear to properly communicate and are rarely in agreement with each other. Unnecessary bureaucracy for an organization of it's size. Innovation is encouraged verbally but rarely supported with actions by upper IT management.

Worked to death

Pros

Benefits, retirement stock option plan, Health savings account, lots of employee pot lucks. It's a fairly large office so my co-workers were the best part of the job.

Cons

They work you to death and don't give any compensation or credit. You meet your closing ratio, good job do it again next month but we are going to throw in claims you've never handled. You a call center agent setting up claims all day WHILE you try to close complex farm or commercial claims. High turnover rate because of the low pay. With the amount of work they expect you should not make less than 50K. No room for advancement either.
