Pros

I have very few positive things to say about this company. The only way I could recommend working here is if you cannot get hired anywhere else, but absolutely know you want to have a career in sales. Then, I would recommend getting a year of experience as an account representative and then leaving as soon as possible. The culture, compensation, caliber of employees, and attitude of senior leadership is extremely poor. Additionally, it is an extremely niche business, so the skills you learn in any other department besides a sales role are barely transferrable unless you want to continue working in the federal VAR space.

Cons

There are almost no redeeming qualities about this company. The items I will focus on include compensation, HR, and company culture. The compensation package is a joke as well as extremely confusing. They start everyone at a base salary of $38,000 with no room for negotiation during the interview process. Annual pay bumps are miniscule despite performance. The pay structure is very poorly conceived, issued in four separate and often different payment amounts over the course of the month, leaving you guessing what your monthly income will be -- despite sales reps not even working on commission. There is no HR department, so during onboarding employees don’t receive any training on how to report misconduct, sexual harassment, or diversity and inclusion related matters. There is no overview of benefits, and the internal employees that manage the retirement and healthcare plans barely understand the plans themselves. If you do have a complaint or concern, you are advised to report it to your immediate manager -- which is extremely problematic for obvious reasons. Perhaps most egregious of all is the total lack of respect for employees the management decisions show : - You are required to work set hours and must take an hour lunch. The work day is 8:30AM – 5:30PM putting your commute directly in the middle of rush hour. - There are controls on your laptop that block you from a myriad of websites – some of which will interfere with your ability to do your job. Website examples include: The Washington Post, NYT, G-mail, Youtube, informational blogs, social media, or commerce websites - In the office, there is a huge cafeteria/ common area. However, management does not allow employees to use it, so there is no place to eat lunch except for at your desk. There are no picnic tables or outdoor seating areas either. - You must notify your team any time you step away from your computer under the guise of “coverage” but is clearly a means of monitoring your activity. Additionally, you must send an email every night to your team or manager outlining everything you completed during the day, called a "nightly e-mail." - Since everyone is required to work in the office the same set hours, it creates an insane rush at 5:30PM of the 1,000+ people all leaving the office at the same time. You can expect to sit in the office parking lot at least an additional 30 minutes trying to leave your space. This encourages employees to work later into the evening at their desks in order to wait out the rush - For bonuses they will often pay in gift cards (I wish I was kidding) - During the company’s “busy season” you are expected to work 11 hour days with no overtime pay

Pros

Some cool co-workers, that's it.

Cons

This is my second job out of college, I've been here three months and I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone. Majority of new hires are fresh out of school and simply don't realize that this isn't how most companies in the real world operate. This job will be expected to be your life, if you need to go to a Doctor's Appointment or take a sick day your managers will scorn you. "Benefits" are basically non-existent. They don't have an HR department which is how they get away with running the company like a glorified sweatshop. Managers are fake nice and expect you to be robots. They don't care about you, they only care about hitting their numbers and making their top executives more money. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job, there is ZERO commission. Don't believe the 4 and 5 star reviews, they are fake. Seriously only consider working here if you don't have any other options.
