It's a real testament here to receive a review from a former team member. I thank you for your time and the overall five stars. I'm hoping though we can connect to learn more about the individual scores you gave around the work-life, culture, and senior leader categories. No pressure, but if you can, shoot me an email at Nick.Morrison@Cardinalgroup.com so we can connect.

Pros

The biggest pro is going to be specifically the relationships you build on-site. There are lots of programs to promote staffs visibility. I am 2 months in and have already seen redtalks and multiple live streams promoting team members visibility. Shout out to the company leaders who worked on this stuff

Cons

The cons range explicitly from interactions with corporate and cell teams. I really dislike how everyone in HQ mainly is one race, there does not seem to be enough diversity whether it’s through DEI or LGBT initiatives. Majority of the DEI council is (well) white. The initiatives don’t seem to match the values. I want to see this company thrive, but it’s really hard for minorities to make it beyond being a property manager. What disappoints me the most is the classism - HQ team members are treated like royalty. You guys close the deals for on-site team members to make the money, yet the pay disparity in anbsolutely insane. I know this does come in part from ownership too but there’s no reason so many (after even talking about this with them) on-site team members make >45k a year before bonuses. It’s just like we’re the ones making you all the money - but you guys are the ones making $150k+ a year… Maybe an initiative to have HQ on-site at various different struggling properties for a week would help the gap in understanding and appreciation. But every time i see a HQ role posted, i get shocked at how much more they are making then the people on the ground, collecting the money which contributes to the fees cardinal charges the property. My hard work pays your salary but it’s never noticed.

Your thoughts and insight here are so invaluable. I too have always struggled with the perceptions as they exist between on and off site team members. The visibility as you referenced is good, but the picture isn't always complete or in line with expectations. I'm going to share your thoughts here with the DEI council and ELT. I think the most important person in the company is you, the on-site team member. Your voice is heard here!
