Pros

Enjoy DM, everyone’s friendly, decent hours.

Cons

Company is money hungry. Difficult time giving staff raises. Difficult time growing hospital to further profit with closed minded individuals. Productivity score extremely high, thus leaving us unable to appropriately staff. Resulting in employee burnout. Managers are included in productivity score. A good number of Individuals in HQ do not have veterinary experience. Due to this, they do not know what it takes to run a hospital adequately to ensure the best patient care. Labor numbers are nearly always 14% or less to ensure the productivity goal of 140 is hit. Soon to be around 160. Also because of this, managers tend to work quite a bit of OT. This is rough for those of us that are salary and do not see the benefit of OT pay.

Pros

Fun office, beer, good people

Cons

The company was constructed to better vet clinics via acquisition and living wage for employees. Most of their talking points ended up being no more than talking points once the economy took a turn for the worst. Poor leadership and inability to follow a logical business plan led to a complete crash and burn. The idea was they could have a large HW overhead because they produce large revenue percentage at the practice level to fund the bloated leaderships salary. Once the economy slowed and inflation happened it was realized all the growth was simply organic growth and had nothing to do with the business structure . Instead of reducing spending and focusing on fixing the current hospitals in network they attempt to fix issues by throwing more money at the problem. I don’t see the company lasting much longer, I have already updated my resume in preparation for the next wave of layoffs or total shutdown.
