Pros

Friendly, comfortable, and welcoming atmosphere. Great rural location with lots of dining/lunchtime options. Managers trust employees and do not micro-manage. Opportunities for learning new tasks and hopping between departments to get comprehensive experience. Company is always improving and competing. Management is very receptive and encouraging of new ideas from all employees. Management are open (and seem to prefer) to hire less experienced employees who show potential. This makes Carnegie a great launching pad for a career, or a comfortable long-term situation. Working with Higher Education is greatly rewarding, as results and personal testimonials from students, counselors, and institutions flow freely and warm the heart!

Cons

Salary is mediocre (but not meager.) PTO and benefits are the same, mediocre, but for a small company, I'm not sure what is average. Expectations to be social and to "fit in" are very high. This creates a fun and "family" atmosphere, but can be off-putting to more introverted employees.

Nice people, but that's just about it

Pros

Camaraderie with your team is nice, and working for colleges/universities is always fun. Small company environment is good.

Cons

Benefits are far below mediocre: minimal days off, awful health insurance. CEO micromanages and only likes/trusts those who are loyal to him. He always seems to be on a power trip. Little room for advancement. Sales staff has little to no understanding of what lower staff do, and thus no appreciation/understanding of time required to execute tasks.

Pros

They like to give out big titles for junior positions on lieu of appropriate salaries.

Cons

Salaries are below going rates among other agencies in the greater Boston area.
