      Pros

      Its a stable employer in and unstable economic environment.

      Cons

      There is no invisible line between staff and administration. It is 10 feet wide and glaring. New hires are welcome at a bare bones salary, do not expect compensation for experience. Do expect an occasional beat down, administration needs to let of steam once in a while.

      Pros

      CarolinaEast is a foundation based on teamwork, patient-satisfaction, empowerment, positivity, and compassion. Every unit I have worked on has excelled in teamwork and has had my back throughout every shift. In general, employees are always working to better themselves and work hard to give their patients and families the best care possible. Our CEO, Mr. Legget is wonderful and actually takes the time to get to know employees on a personal level. He is approachable and genuinely wants the best for his employees and for the patient’s at CarolinaEast.

      Cons

      CarolinaEast is a fairly small hospital with approximately 250 beds. The pay is not as high as larger institutions nearby, such as Vidant. However, getting paid a little bit less honestly doesn’t bother me because I think the work-environment and great employee benefits makes up for the difference.

      Pros

      It is just the right sized hospital where you could grow in the profession of nursing, provided you get on the right unit.

      Cons

      It's all about who you know, and not getting on the bad side of those who have influence. Units can push out very good nurses and not think twice about it.
