A Scene from Mean Girls

Pros

Great work-life balance except during busy season, which is expected in this industry.

Cons

Benefits are pricey. There is also little to no training involved. They pride themselves in having a mentorship program, but the manager or partner they pair you with is usually too busy to take questions. The office atmosphere is like a scene from Mean Girls in that if you don’t work in a certain department, they have a “you can’t sit with us” attitude. I’ve never witnessed a workplace so divisive and clique-y, and the partners are the worst culprits. Overall, the firm is more concerned with who puts in the most hours. They preach productivity, but if you work the long hours yet are all caught up on your projects halfway through the day, then your productivity tanks, which you then get reprimanded for.

Pros

If you get luck you may get a good manager or senior, you can learn a lot.

Cons

This company pays you as low as they can and as long as they can. Management will be talking about upcoming promotions next year or two, but all the corporate office wants are the slaves who work themselves to death because somehow it's honorable, good for your soul and you learn. Mr. Carr is a terrible, arrogant and selfish leader. If you look at his picture, you will notice that he indulges a bit. During COVID, this company worked everyone to the bone, all stressed out and burned just to get a pay cut of 10% and more. This company is about greed on the top of the pyramid. Don't take their southern accents for southern hospitality. The corporate heads stuff their pockets but never pay any bonuses to employees. Even worse, one year as a Christmas gift they gave out corporate marketing material sets in boxes of a pen and a flashlight. I'm sure management was very pleased with themselves to drop those "gifts" to peasants.

Pros

Pay was good decent for role Benefits were satisfactory

Cons

No training. The team functioned like a mean girls club. It was less about the quality of work and more about who could put in the most hours. No work/life balance. Team spoke negatively each other, other departments, leadership. Was expected to participate in gossip during the day and make up the lost productivity at night.
