Pros

*hires great talent *fair pay *fancy office space

Cons

*company openly prides itself in "working lean" aka piling on responsibility when they should really just hire more people. This is great for those wanting exposure & experience, but bad for those concerned for their well being & work life balance *upper leadership holds all decision making powers. They stretch themselves too thin because they are unwilling to delegate authority and trust the top talent they hired.

Prepare for the grind

Pros

Work life balance is good. Store managers are hourly which is unheard of. Benefits and employee discount are great as well.

Cons

Extremely awful work life. Being a 40 an hour a week SM has its perks, but also has draw backs. The company ran at a 97% payroll efficiency for last year. So out of what is given, 3% is spent going to the bathroom, talking or crying balled up in the corner. The turnover company wide is insane! Only 41% of new managers end up making it past the 6 month mark. Most crumble under the extreme pressure of extreme payroll restrictions, and training that is normally not what it should be as trainers aren’t given hours to be a trainer. For a company that has been around as long as Carter’s, you would think they would have realized how unrealistic their expectations are when it comes to tasking. Also not allowing for over time, and nobody in the store is being salaried, means if you can’t get support from another store you could be working alone slammed or having to leave your coworkers in a daunting situation.

Pros

Co-workers. There is nothing else.

Cons

It doesn't matter how hard you work you won't get promoted unless your in "the click". If you work in Inventory you won't be prompted unless your Mong, everybody knows it but nobody does nothing about it. They'll never see you as a valuable employee because they could care less. Breaks are far apart and your walking time is part of your 15 minute break so you really only get about a 7 minute break Worst place i have ever worked and feel blessed that i don't work in that hell hole anymore. Felt like i had whip marks on my back, still have some scars but they are healing.
