Pros

Great benefits, free snacks Free lunch 1x per week

Cons

Where do I start? Castlight Health is very unorganized which leads to frustration and a unhealthy work environment. They hire great people and be little them, especially the contractors. This place is beyond unfair, lots a favoritism. In order to be promoted or etc. Management encourages you to tell on others or gather information that should be confidential. Upper management in the Charlotte office created a “fake” position. Only to hire her friend and be sure they sat beside one another. When really other supervisors deserve the position. How can upper management hire a friend when neither one of them know anything about the product and everything they say about the product is incorrect. Almost like a foreign language never created. Upper management is very out spoken and only see things her eye (even when she ask for advice, it’s so pointless to give). HR flys analytic/engineers down from San Francisco to get feedback from the Charlotte team. Sad part is, when they arrive they barely know anything about “WHAT DOES NOT WORK” within the product. It only takes you to act like you are working and learn the product. Why not? Castlight Health throws their horrible product to “major clients” and then wonder why they lost them. We lost several major clients between 2017-2019. Not to mention when their is a technical issue within the product management encourages you to send the same email repeatedly to “major clients” saying the “technical issue” will be fixed soon“ with no ETA. “VERY ANNOYING” on the clients end and employee end while trying to make the client happy. Literally I’ve seen a “technical issue” within the product last a year and fixed a yr later. That’s just unacceptable, please ask some of these “clients” I’m sure they can share a lot of experiences with Castlight Health. High turn over rate twice that I know of, I’m talking over 100 employees. Feedback is always asked of but never considered. Diversity is always the topic, when it’s not even a true statement in this company. Raises are rarely given, with a weak amount mean while they over work you. If you are looking for stability for you and your family it’s definitely not here.

Pros

Castlight offers a pretty good work/ life balance. You have unlimited paid time off. free lunches are a plus and the starting paid is decent. They also have a great leave policy (one coworker was able to take 16weeks for paternity leave- paid in full).

Cons

Management is a joke in the Charlotte office. If you are one of their “people” you get the short end of the stick. The director is loyal only to her managers, so don’t seek help from her if you have issue. Don’t look for help from HR either because you’ll have a hard time contacting anyone. There is no specific number for HR, you’re literally calling people on their cell phones. There is an bad atmosphere here, people constantly worry about if they’ll be fired for nothing. If the office wasn’t in a “Work at will” state, I’m sure there are a few employment violations that have been made. Their is no confidentiality, manager frequently discuss personal business with other managers and employees. If you’re a “fav” of management, you can pretty much do what you want.

Pros

On the surface, the mission is positive. Unfortunately it’s all marketing.

Cons

Abusive management who encouraged mistreatment of employees and gossiped about the people they managed instead of helping guide them. Catty culture that held top talent back until they quit. Entire hiring team left within 3 weeks of my start date.

We are very sorry to hear about your negative experience. The Castlight culture of One Team on a Mission Making Things happen is not just a group of words, but is also the principle under which we all work. Abusive behavior by anyone is not tolerated. The only way to address your issue is for you to discuss specifics with HR or a group leader—anyone you're comfortable with. We would welcome such a discussion.
