Pros

This company values diversity in such a way where many different people can thrive here. They are socially conscious, dedicated to being an energy for change in the world of healthcare, racial injustice and optimal queer life. In the day-to-day work, they encourage the best from their employees, using a positive attitude and an eye towards growth and accountability. Opportunities for professional and personal growth abound. Compensation is fair, my work is valued, and benefits are better than average for the area. Management - from the CEO to my direct manager- feels human, is empathetic, and is direct about what they observe and expect. In these uncertain times, they are motivated to keep us safe by having strict rules regarding social distancing, hand washing and mask-wearing in the office.

Cons

I occasionally wish there was more availability to work remotely, for right now. However, it's not something I consider a personal necessity and I understand the practical limitations in place.

Pros

-Compensation is fair -Good safety practices for keeping employees safe during COVID-19 -Employee Benefits start on day 1

Cons

- Tickets with no resolution going back months - It is a call center through and through meaning that micro-managing every minute you work is essential to their metrics (I understand this may be a Pro for some, however it was Con for me as it was described as "Not REALLY al call center" during the interview process) - Gossipy/toxic environment - Lack of professionalism - Unclear definition of roles between T1 Support, T1 Senior Support and T2/Floorsupport

Pros

The people are great and pay is terrific. As for the day to day of working at castlight, you never know what you're going to get. The work is rewarding and thrilling to those eager to learn in the tech space. The company has strong leadership throughout the organization. Maeve our CEO has revitalized the Customer Success team while placing strong resourcing into the professional services team, making strong hires at the director levels will pay dividends for Castlight's future. There are dozens of incredibly talented individuals at the company and everyone is very willing to collaborate and learn from one another. Castlight has a terrific culture and despite recent unfortunate lay offs the attitude has mainly been positive and inspiring.

Cons

If you prefer to work strictly 40 hours a week and are not willing to put in extra time then I would consider this aspect of working here. It is a startup and constantly evolving and adapting so you must work extra hard to perform well. This can be great for those wanting a challenge but can overwhelm those are might not enjoy the requirement to be flexible. Working at Castlight around the month of December is also very busy if this time is important to you. Prepare to babysit other departments if you want things done right and quickly. Churn throughout the organization has hurt some of the internal processes.
