Pros

Can follow the catapult curriculum, which makes lesson planning easier, student groups max out at 8, and you can somewhat make your own schedule for group times.

Cons

Disorganized company, poor training, high turnover, TONS of paperwork that doesn't directly impact student growth or achievement, and some higher management have never been educators and do not and will not understand the realities and demands of being in a classroom.

I am a professional, but was treated like an intern.

Pros

Nice co-workers. Easy schedule IF you want part-time work. Provided supplies. Reimbursed some driving mileage. Many schools will provide free lunch.

Cons

Poverty wages for a Masters degree level job, no support from management, principals and supervisor spoke behind our backs, my supervisor was not qualified to give feedback to school counselors-she has no concept of what school counselors do. We are told that "the teachers don't like you" and expected to go to work feeling confident. It was also discovered that my supervisor lied to her employees to fit her own agenda. Zero constructive criticism- only put downs. The year before I left I almost went to Corporate to report my supervisor for making comments about my marriage and my husband's income at a meeting.
