Pros

I get to work with children who need me in a small group. As a former classroom teacher it is refreshing to be able to actually help kids and meet them at their level.

Cons

There is way too much paperwork. We complete reports and send data to different places but in a different way.

Pros

Decent benefits, opportunity to work part time or full time, hiring even though school districts are laying people off, ability to work independently

Cons

Hiring even though school districts are laying people off (turnover is high), management treats everyone like children, managers respond to constructive criticism by saying "Oh well, if you can't cut it just leave," lack of compassion on the part of superiors, huge emphasis on testing, pressure to take on too many tasks at once, haphazard support system, lack of training for new employees
