Pros

the students, working during school hours

Cons

PTO sucks, no vacation, get 2 hours of sick time every pay period, you don't get a guaranteed 35 hours a week because you only work when students are at school, no paid holidays or holiday breaks. hourly rate sounds good but you will only make about 25k yearly. management also has favoritism!!!! managers get paid 3x more than us and all they do is sit on their behinds and micromanage

Pros

- Consistent pay - Benefits - Somewhat flexible scheduling - Employee site preferences respected

Cons

- No social work licensure supervision offered - Highly variable workload / daily schedule depending on site - Highly limited time off / sick days - Changes in federal funding can impact job security - Federal funding leads to excessive documentation requirements - Documentation takes precedent over actual direct service - Position as a contractor often compromises staff's overall role within the school (bottom of the totem pole wherever you go) - There to fulfill the federal requirement for a Title 1 staff member, management doesn't seem to care much if you actually provide services
