Pros

Pros of CMC are the parking and sky bridge. Makes crossing the street so nice in the winter. Most staff there want to do a good job for the patients.

Cons

Pay is horrible. Most of my friends jump the border to work in MA for way more money. The cost of living and lack of income tax in NH only gets you so far!Time to pay RN"s and nursing assistants what they are worth! CMC is an inner city hospital with a challenging patient population. There is alot of substance abuse and psych issues. These patients need alot of care and there are not enough resources. There is alot of violence towards staff and leadership does nothing to help. People have worked there for decades and like things the way they are. No one seems to think anything should change. Yet, we are losing patients and money. CMC is merging with DH and they tell employees NOTHING! Everything is a secret. There is no communication and when we do get news its through very rosey colored glasses.

Pros

Close to home. A few amazing, personable surgeons.

Cons

Coworkers are catty, snobby, and rude. Most have only worked there, and have no idea what a successful department of surgery looks like. Ridiculous amount of gossip. No teamwork. Very cliquey. Workload unfairly balanced with the bulk placed on people that aren’t in the “sorority”. Ridiculous and unsafe amount of call. Unsafe practices. Constantly contaminated trays. Educator is incompetent and rude. Any attempt to improve workplace or state concerns is ignored. Some surgeons are physically and verbally abusive toward staff with no reprimand beyond “it’s how they are”. Manager would show up at work parties half in the bag. Lots of travelers because staff can’t be retained due to awful culture. Worst benefit package I’ve ever seen.
