Pros

Usefully connected to field

Cons

Definitely a company with a southern mentality as minorities are treated as second rate inferior to white staff. Across the board, black representation and voice is almost non-exist. One of the least transformed organizations I've worked for in my career.

Pros

I worked for CRS for less than 3 years. It was always an honor and a privilege to work for this organization. I liked the fact that it wasn't perfect. You have to climb through some unpleasant things just to get to work. Once inside, it was truly an urban oasis, full of life and purpose. I will truly miss CRS and will carry all of the wonderful memories with me forever.

Cons

Please embrace your differences and understand how differences make CRS a special place to work. Besides, it would be so boring if everyone thought the same and acted the same. My dear colleagues, be grateful for the gift that you have been given.

Disappointing employer where careers go to die

Pros

Great mission. Staff are generally passionate about their work. CRS works hard to ensure staff hgave a work life balance. 35 hour work week at HQ is a perk.

Cons

Lots of bureaucratic tape to get anything done creates a highly prohibitive environment for enthusiasts that truly want to do great work. Favoritism is rampant, with people in management positions that have no business being managers. Little opportunity and unclear guidelines for advancement. Many, many staff have been there for years and have drank the cool aid, leading to complacency and the status quo.
