Pros
There are many departments and divisions, thus (in theory) many opportunities to work. Competitive wages (compared to most industries) Some effort to foster a sense of "familial campus community"
Cons
The "At Will" employment policy. Workers have no real rights or protections, no matter their work ethic and efforts. Employment can terminate without warning or reason, which can be especially painful in the present economy. Office politics rules. Employees, especially among the young, openly schmooze and cultivate superiors with compliments rather than impress with work and achievements.
