Pros

Most worker bees are good, friendly, helpful people that are good to be around. Mark Rohr is changing the culture, but many mid level managers (and a couple of VP's) still have to go before he can be completely successful.

Cons

Only a select few are given the opportunity to advance their careers at Celanese. The vast majority are viewed as expendable. Middle management team are primarily a bunch of ruthless, cutthroat, inept, clueless individuals that are only truely interested in advancing their own careers. Given they have little accountablitity this makes for a scary combination for the common employee.

Pros

Pay is decent, benefits are good, and most of your peers are good to work with, but that is where the good reasons end. If you are a recent grad and don't know anything else, or have no desire to grow this is a good place, if you have experience stay away.

Cons

no room for advancement unless you are in the "good 'ol boys club", gradute from BYU, or are the teachers pet. Good work is not rewarded and management for the most part is clueless about what anyone does. No development opportunities because all the people with the knowledge are let go or get smart and quit. Gotten progressively worse each year I've been here. No advancement opportunities as jobs are being sent oversees. Not employee friendly.
