Lots of change, very dynamic. There is lots of room for advancement. Their IT group pushes the limits and gets lots done.

Cons

Lots of change, very dynamic. Constant reorganization is stifling maturity of IT group. Lots of projects going on at any given time.

Pros

Celanese is an excellent place to work if one is not ambitious and not interested in advancement opportunities.

Cons

Unfortunately, the economic downturn hit the company pretty hard as it did all the major players in the chemical industry. This lead to significant restructuring resulting in fewer and fewer paths to advancement. Thus, the company doesn't seem too interested in developing managers beyond their current level as there really is nowhere for them to go.
