Pros

Work Life balance is great. It's a great company to work for, and I made the most money i've ever made. There's honestly a great culture and great people.

Cons

Recent commission changes and reps added on shift in the past 6 months have given us multiple pay cuts. This is the only reason I'm looking at other career options.

Pros

Made good money before the pandemic. The opportunity to work very hard, very large amounts of time was originally available, and from that an employee used to be able to make a generous salary. The pandemic changed a lot and Cellular Sales had to adjust to worsening things are the months waned on. For the pandemic, employees were offered extra financial assistance for one month only, the month of May in 2022.

Cons

Working for Cellular Sales for a period of almost three years, I experienced and witnessed other's experiences with the employer enough to understand the big picture. As far as the market in my area goes, it is heavily influenced by back door politics. However, the company itself has a lot of questionable practices. A lot of vague answers to things and backhanded expectations. You might be expected to sell something, or sell something a certain way that you don't feel is ethical. On the other hand, you also might be expected to perform service to customers for things that you are not in anyway shape or form qualified or nor equipped for. Everyday I was expected to troubleshoot Verizon customer's phones, when I am not at all given any technical training whatsoever. They whole idea is, assist the customer in hopes of creating a positive experience in anyway shape or form so it will eventually lead to a sale for the company either way, whether you get the sale or not. I understand that commission based jobs are competitive, but having this in place also gave way to tactics being used to thwart taking "swings" that other employees would know weren't going to be sales, and then push them onto you to leave themselves open to then get swings that could have sales. Toxic environments where employees stole other employees sales, sales from orders, and other unethical practices were not only allowed or condone but promoted and glorified by the ones who benefited from it. On top of that you have Sales Leads that push the notion of competition way to far. I had to sign up for a What'sApp work group, then also receiving group texts on top of that, in addition to you already normal barrage of normal work emails everyday. The only difference is the text messages would invade your own privacy at home, when you aren't even clocked in or supposed to be working. It would be looked upon to always make yourself available all the time for a customer or for anything sale related. It was downright annoying. And if you refused to participate, then you'd be the oddball out of the group. Nobody wants that generally. All of this was considered totally acceptable and normal behavior, in fact it was promoted so strongly that people would really get deceptive about making "appointments" and unsharing the sale from other reps just to make more money. None of these grievances were ever taken seriously when I brought them to the attention of their corporate management. However, it was enough that it eventually led to my involuntarily termination from the company, regardless of whatever statements that Cellular Sales will make about retaliation. Believe me, if you make a grievance of any kind, you better expect your job to be gone as soon as they can find a reason to get rid of you. Their reason for termination can be as simple as an excuse that you left for a few hours while you were on the clock that day, even though you and every other employees there had been doing that practice as normal your entire employment. They put you Personal Improvement Plans, only to make sure you never hit your goals and even when you make sure to hit them, they use find another reason to terminate you like I stated earlier. I won't even go into the nearly nonexistent safety measures they took throughout the pandemic to protect it's employees. It's so paltry, so pathetic, the amount of effort they did. The protection "offered". All of it was quickly thrown out for sales long before any mandates were lifted. Some employees were not even wearing masks at all, you never knew when you might get sick and die from Covid at that time. When you look back to what you decided to give to this company during a time of crisis and what they do in return to you, you can't forget it but at least you move on from it knowing you are a better person. The work environment was toxic. I know of other very good, reliable employees that left voluntarily. I was not one of them. I don't think Cellular Sales will ever hire me again, not in this market, but I would not work for them ever again regardless.
