Terrible work space and working environment.

Pros

My coworkers were great and as supportive of one another as much as you can be in this place. I'm surprised some have stayed, though I understand why, and I wish them all the best in the world.

Cons

Both owners are awful. They constantly make rude and disparaging remarks to and about staff under the guise of "joking." But at least you are forced to pray before a pizza party. The hypocrisy knows no bounds. When not insulting the staff, they show up late and leave early, all while forcing staff to work overtime (60+ hours a week) to make a normal 40 hour a week income and it's still way below what you'd make as a junior developer. Forget having a work/life balance as the owners expect you to work all the time, no work-from-home options because the owners don't trust you to be a professional and actually work from home. Expect huge pushes to work on billable time and meet sales goals (not client goals) that are unobtainable, irresponsible, and detrimental to the development team's overall quality of work which is then passed on to the clients, who will complain to ownership, and ownership then comes down on you like a ton of bricks because you met their sales goals but the client is mad because they didn't get exactly what they paid for. It's a never ending cycle. If you're a developer, do not bother applying here–you will set your career back years and losing out on having any sort of work/life balance. New ideas that help the company and coworkers be more efficient are not encouraged and are typically ridiculed and shot down for fear that the company would lose money. The building itself is bad, as well. You work in a back room that leaks constantly and has birds nesting in the ceiling. You're packed into this small room with five other developers and implementation specialists, so good luck with trying to have a phone conversation with clients. The only bathroom you are permitted to use is one that is barely a step up from a porta potty and step down from a shady gas station at one in the morning, while the sales and marketing team have their own dedicated bathroom and, of course, the owners have their own personal bathroom.

Our industry is very competitive and it takes a lot of hard work to succeed. We are continually trying to improve and refine our company culture and work-life balance. As a small company, we do our best to be transparent with all our employees about workload expectations. We hope employees would express their feelings to us when they are feeling stressed, overworked or burned out. If you don’t tell us, we don’t know what is going on with you personally.

Pros

CemSites has given me so much! I got to work in a recession proof industry for a growing company with really great people. The technology and programming standards we used were second to none and honestly, better than other larger companies I worked for. I loved my experience here because they took the time to develop me personally and professionally... much more of a family atmosphere than corporate bla. Wish I didn't have to move away and would love to work there again.

Cons

The early years were tough working a lot of hours when they were a small start up, but that is no longer the case now that they have years of proven processes and a larger staff

Pros

I realized that I knew I could do better than this

Cons

Forced prayers at meals. Long gruesome hours with impossible deadlines. Incompetent management that constantly looks for a scapegoat to blame all their problems on. I could go on for hours but i hope possible applicants understand that I shouldn't have to.

CemSites is proud of where we are today; helping to make a positive impact on our clients – together as a team. As a rapidly growing company, there is a lot of hard work and effort that is needed to succeed. This means deadlines can shift, and the workload may be heavier from time-to-time. Good luck in your future endeavors.
