Pros

Great people, devoted, open minded, hardworking, lots of focus on continuous improvement and personal development. Good amount of vacation time and lots of company holidays. Excellent ERG's - proof Cengage values diversity and inclusion.

Cons

Major problem with salaries - some people are on a bonus structure others are not, company is working on pay transparency. Negotiate your starting salary (ask for 5-10Kmore) because annual raises are minimal if your not on bonus program. HR leaves many HR functions to department managers (some think this is good, I would say no) and overly confusing onboarding to actual job necessary trainings and access to many systems. Helping new SME's get up to speed is hard because everyone's POD is run completely different.

Our annual merit increases are set each year based on the market, Cengage and individual performance. Bonus eligibility is separate and tied to role – some are bonus eligible, others are not. Many options for advancement and professional development Positive and Inclusive company culture Many positions offer remote work Benefits package is sufficient overall (401k, health, dental, vision, annual bonus plan, PTO, sick leave, wellness days)

Cons

Compensation clarity could be better (but they are working on it) PTO is basic 2 weeks a year to start and based on tenure at the company but this is buffered by company wellness days (random days off during the year the company selects)
